Sol–Gel-Process-Based Molten-Flux Synthesis of Plate-like La2NiO4+δ Particles

La2NiO4+δ particles with a plate-like morphology were prepared from NaOH melt by molten-flux synthesis. For this purpose, the intermediates sol–gel process used as reactants. Using powder X-ray diffraction, identified mixture of tetragonal La2O2CO3 and cubic NiO. The existence NiO was also confirmed transmission electron microscopy in combination electron-energy loss spectroscopy. ultrafine mixed then additional water nickel crucible heated to 673 K for 8 h. chemical reactions air during synthesis influence salt on formation examined thermogravimetric analysis. diffraction indicated K2NiF4-type structure I4/mmm space group reaction product. scanning showed crystals length thickness approximately 9 µm 2 µm, respectively, while energy-dispersive spectroscopy revealed homogeneous distribution lanthanum product powder. processing parameters generation, well size particles, systematically studied.
