چکیده
Understanding soil seed banks (SSBs) of Nitraria tangutorum nebkhas is critical for vegetation restoration and ecological management in desert–oasis ecotones. In this study, we conducted a survey the field germination experiment laboratory to investigate characteristics SSB different sizes parts examine their relationship with aboveground vegetation. The results showed that there were 17 species plants six families ecotone, dominated by Chenopodiaceae. life forms mainly annual herbs, accounting 58.82%–71.43%. number order large nebkha > medium small nebkha, was no significant difference density. Partitioning of Fungal Endophyte Assemblages in Root-Parasitic Plant Cynomorium songaricum and Its Host Nitraria tangutorum
Endophytic fungi are an integral part and even seen as host organs of plant, influencing physiology, ecology, and development of host plants. However, little is known about micro-ecosystems and functional interactions of endophytic fungi in root-parasitic interactions of Cynomorium songaricum and its host Nitraria tangutorum. Here, distribution and dynamics of endophytic fungi were objectively ...
متن کاملEstimating soil seed bank characteristics in Ponderosa Pine Forests using vegetation and forest-floor data
Soil seed banks are important for vegetation management because they contain propagules of species that may be considered desirable or undesirable for site colonization after management and disturbance events. Knowledge of seed bank size and composition before planning management activities facilitates proactive management by providing early alerts of exotic species presence and of abilities of...

Understanding the seed rain and seed loss dynamics in the natural condition has important significance for revealing the natural regeneration mechanisms. We conducted a 3-year field observation on seed rain, seed loss and natural regeneration of Castanopsis fargesii Franch., a dominant tree species in evergreen broad-leaved forests in Dujiangyan, southwestern China. The results showed that: (1)...
متن کاملRapid and High Seed Germination and Large Soil Seed Bank of Senecio aquaticus in Managed Grassland
Senecio aquaticus, regionally a Red List species in Europe, has become increasingly abundant in agricultural grassland of medium to high management intensity in Switzerland, Southern Germany, and Austria in recent years, where it is a threat for animal and human health due to its toxicity. In this study, we investigated the seed ecology of S. aquaticus to help protection of the species in relic...
