Soil radon exhalation rate measurement in Duhok city by two techniques

Radon exhalation rate is the of radioactive radon gas that escapes from soil into atmosphere. In this study was measured for 33 samples soil, in four districts Duhok province, using two different techniques: one concentration and other radium content, by both alpha gamma spectroscopy. For measurement, alpha-sensitive RAD7 detector used. While second method, expressed as a function concentration, well type NaI (Tl) parameters. Analysis, shows average rate, first technique, varies 14.6 ? 3.2 to 55.7 1.6 Bqm-2h-1, while it 13.3 2.4 50.6 4.1 Bqm-2h-1. Overall, values, methods at all sample points, present good correlation less than global mean recommendation.
