چکیده

Abstract Background Soil quality, which can be inferred using indicators that interact synergistically, is affected by land use types and agricultural management practices. This study assessed the status of soil quality under three adjacent uses (cultivated, grazing, fallow) in Kersa subwatershed (622 ha). samples were collected from surface (0–20 cm depth) identified with replications parameters analyzed. A minimum data set selected physical, chemical, biological literature review expert opinion method. Linear scoring functions used to give unitless scores for sets, then integrated into a index (SQI). Results The results revealed bulk density, aggregate stability, pH, cation exchange capacity (CEC), available P, organic carbon (SOC) had significant difference SQI among different uses. indices 0.69 grazing land, 0.62 cultivated 0.59 fallow land. all falls intermediate (0.55 < 0.70) class. Conclusion In almost assessed, was superior lands. Therefore, implementing practices enhance like matter-controlled systems imperative sustainable production area.

Soil Respiration under Different Land Uses in Eastern China

Land-use change has a crucial influence on soil respiration, which further affects soil nutrient availability and carbon stock. We monitored soil respiration rates under different land-use types (tea gardens with three production levels, adjacent woodland, and a vegetable field) in Eastern China at weekly intervals over a year using the dynamic closed chamber method. The relationship between so...

According to the CORINE programme, Spain and Portugal are the Mediterranean countries in the European Union facing the greatest risk of erosion (Desir & Marín, 2007). In Portugal, areas at high risk of erosion cover almost one third of the country (Grimm et al., 2002). The main causes of soil erosion are inappropriate agricultural practices, land abandonment, deforestation, overgrazing, forest ...
