چکیده

There are numerous valley farmlands on the Chinese Loess Plateau (CLP), where suffers from low soil quality and high risk of salinization due to shallow groundwater table poor drainage system. Currently, research evolution processes mechanisms in these dammed-valley CLP is still inadequately understood. In this study, three kinds hilly-gully areas northern were selected, status impact factors examined. The include new farmland created by project Gully Land Consolidation, 60-a sedimentation check dam, 400-a an ancient landslide-dammed lake. Results showed that (1) newly had lowest terms bulk density, porosity, organic carbon total nitrogen among farmlands; (2) occurred middle upper reaches farmlands, whereas no was found farmland; (3) nutrient determined be two important impacted mountain CLP. We conclude have a table, alkalinity loessial local landform feature, thus resulting farmlands. Therefore, strengthening decreasing extremely improve guarantee sustainable development agriculture

Ectomycorrhizal fungal communities associated with Populus simonii and Pinus tabuliformis in the hilly-gully region of the Loess Plateau, China

The Loess Plateau region of northwestern China has unique geological and dry/semi-dry climate characteristics. However, knowledge about ectomycorrhizal fungal (EMF) communities in the Loess Plateau is limited. In this study, we investigated EMF communities in Populus simonii and Pinus tabuliformis patches within the forest-steppe zone, in pine forests within the forest zone, and the transitiona...

Climatic and drought characteristics in the loess hilly-gully region of China from 1957 to 2014

The loess hilly-gully region is a focus region of the "Grain for Green" program in China. Drought is the main problem in the study region. Precipitation and temperature are two indicators that directly characterize climatic drought. A thorough analysis of the precipitation, temperature and drought characteristics of the loess hilly-gully region can clarify the current water and heat conditions ...
