Soil Labile Organic Carbon Fractions and Carbon Management Index in Response to Different Fertilization under Organic Maize Farming System

چکیده
Organic farming has been known to improve soil quality by enhancing organic carbon (SOC) contents. The labile (LOC) pools and management index (CMI) are commonly used as very sensitive indicators of changes in SOC assessment quality. This study was conducted investigate the effect practices on LOC fractions CMI analysis a 6-year field experiment. Four treatments were included: compost (COM), green manure (GM), inorganic fertilizer (NPK), no fertilization (NF). designed explore concentrations, C (microbial biomass (MBC), water hot water-extractable (WEC, HWEC), particulate (POC), light fraction (LFOC) permanganate oxidizable (POXC)) within bulk under corn cultivation condition. significantly increased concentrations stocks 10 - 55% compared NPK NF, especially, treatment. All higher COM GM NP, except MBC content. Among fractions, POC showed highest proportion (32 87%) total SOC. varied from 0.87 2.77, fertilized 1.7 3.2 times over NPK. These results that POXC could be rapid informative indicator assess changes. Hence, therefore contribute improved nutrient cycling services quality.Effect different fractions; extractable (WEC), hot-water (HWEC), microbial (POXC), (POC) soil.

Response of soil labile organic carbon fractions to forest conversions in subtropical China
In order to determine the impact of forest conversions on labile organic carbon fractions, soils at depths of 0 10, 10 30 and 30 50 cm were collected from three types of forest: secondary monsoon evergreen broadleaved forest (BF), mixed pine and broadleaved forest (MF) and Masson pine forest (PF) in subtropical China. The light fraction organic carbon (LFOC), particulate organic carbon (POC) an...

It has been suggested that conversion to organic farming contributes to soil carbon sequestration, but until now a comprehensive quantitative assessment has been lacking. Therefore, datasets from 74 studies from pairwise comparisons of organic vs. nonorganic farming systems were subjected to metaanalysis to identify differences in soil organic carbon (SOC). We found significant differences and ...
متن کاملSoil organic carbon dynamics jointly controlled by climate, carbon inputs, soil properties and soil carbon fractions.
Soil organic carbon (SOC) dynamics are regulated by the complex interplay of climatic, edaphic and biotic conditions. However, the interrelation of SOC and these drivers and their potential connection networks are rarely assessed quantitatively. Using observations of SOC dynamics with detailed soil properties from 90 field trials at 28 sites under different agroecosystems across the Australian ...
متن کاملLimits to soil carbon stability; Deep, ancient soil carbon decomposition stimulated by new labile organic inputs
Carbon (C) buried deep in soil (below 1 m) is often hundreds to thousands of years old, though the stability and sensitivity of this deep C to environmental change are not well understood. We examined the C dynamics in three soil horizons and their responses to changes in substrate availability in a coarsetextured sandy spodosol (0.0e0.1, 1.0e1.3, and 2.7e3.0 m deep). Substrate additions were i...
