چکیده
Burning of agricultural residues, cultivation single crop varieties such as rice (Oryza sativa L.) and wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), traditional soil tillage practices collectively contribute to the degradation environmental quality, water systems, resources. To address these issues, conservation agriculture (CA)-based management practice has emerged one viable options. The current study was conducted with aim evaluate effect CA weed (WM) on carbon dynamics biochemical properties soil. experiment included two factors, viz., WM practices. levels vary from conventional partial (pCA1, pCA2, pCA3) full CA, while had three consisting chemical control, integrated management, weedy check. results demonstrated that organic (SOC) under treatment, 30.6, 23.5, 20.6 percent higher than (T1), CA1, CA2 practices, respectively. Similarly, labile fractions carbon, KMnO4-C MBC, WSOC, POC, in increased by 46.3, 52.3, 152.4, 15.6 percent, respectively, over agriculture. Nonetheless, total exhibited no significant impact. highest SOC stock sequestered which 26.5 40.6 per cent rest treatments. Among biological properties, resulted 104.3 dehydrogenase alkaline phosphatase activity impact for KMnO4-C, very only surface layer. Soil quality index (SQI) followed decreasing order (0.94) > CA3 (0.88) (0.78) CA1 (0.77) (0.67) different treatments, whereas herbicide (0.82) check (0.81) IWM (0.80). offered incredible information indicators monitor changes rice–wheat cropping systems response

Maize productivity and nutrient use efficiency in Western Kenya as affected by soil type and crop management
Low soil fertility and high weed infestation are the main culprits for the declining maize production inWestern Kenya. Technology packages to address these constraints exist, but their effectiveness is likely to be influenced by variability in soil types and farm management practices in the region. Trials were conducted during the 2008/2009 cropping seasons to investigate the nutrient use e...

Total organic carbon (TOC) is the carbon (C) stored in soil organic matter (SOM). Organic carbon (OC) enters the soil through the decomposition of plant and animal residues, root exudates, living and dead microorganisms, and soil biota. SOM is the organic fraction of soil exclusive of nondecomposed plant and animal residues. Nevertheless, most analytical methods do not distinguish between decom...
متن کاملTea yield and soil properties as affected by slope position and aspect in Lahijan area, Iran
Soil genesis, physico-chemical properties and tea yield were investigated along different hillslope positions in the major tea cultivation area of Iran, i.e. Lahijan, Gilan Province. Land suitability was also determined for the tea production in this hilly region. Four different slope positions i.e., summit, shoulder, backslope and toeslope were sampled on three slope aspects following the prof...
