Soil-Building Interaction under Surface Horizontal Strain Induced by Underground Mining

چکیده
Underground mining causes the ground to deform, leading destruction of buildings. Horizontal strain is one most important damage strip foundation However, related research insufficient and mechanism behind building caused by horizontal remains unclear, resulting in several difficulties performing coal under villages. In this study, interface slip soil pressure transfer between buildings are investigated, stress concentration driven movement considered primary cause damage. The influences mechanical parameters geometric a on distribution inside analyzed establishing model different strains. Softening or designing deformation joints can reduce influence building. This provide an reference for safely villages protection against strain.

Seismic Analysis of Building with Underground Stories Considering Soil Structure Interaction
Current building codes lack explicit recommendations on how to simulate the seismic performance of high-rise buildings with multiple underground stories. Designers are typically basing their analyses on subjective engineering judgment and experience. Recent researches shows that seismic response of buildings with basement walls is a complicated phenomenon. This paper studies the seismic behavio...
متن کاملDynamics of Building - Soil Interaction
In this study of the dynamics of building-soil interaction, the soil is modeled by a linear elastic half-space, and the building structure by an n-degree-of-freedom oscillator. Both earthquake response and steady-state response to sinusoidal excitation are examined. By assuming that the interaction system possesses n + 2 significant resonant frequencies, the response of the system is reduced to...
متن کاملMonitoring underground coal mining - induced subsidence
Monitoring of mine subsidence by means of classical methods such as optical levelling or Global Positioning System (GPS) surveys can reveal deformations with sub-millimetre to subcentimetre precision for localised areas. However, to provide data on a reasonably dense two-dimensional (2D) benchmark grid are costly and time-consuming for all but the smallest areas. Moreover, a regular re-survey o...
متن کاملSurface Water–groundwater Interaction in the Fractured Sandstone Aquifer Impacted by Mining-induced Subsidence: 2. Hydrogeochemistry
Water quality along the Waratah Rivulet in the Woronora Lake Catchment, New South Wales (NSW), Australia, has been monitored during the last three years by the Sydney Catchment Authority. Water quality data shows changes in chemical composition due to cracking of streambeds and rockbars, and diversion of surface water into subsurface routes in the Hawkesbury Sandstone aquifer. Water quality ups...
