Soil Aggregate Stability in Salt-Affected Vineyards: Depth-Wise Variability Analysis
نویسندگان
چکیده
Soil aggregate stability is an ideal integrative soil quality indicator, but little known about the relevance of such indicator with depth for salt-affected soils. The objective this study was to determine and identify preponderant aggregation factors, both in topsoil subsoil horizons conditions. We conducted field investigations by describing profiles pedological pits collecting samples from different units. Soils were sampled within horizon types, superficial tilled organo-mineral mineral horizons. For all samples, we determined mean weight diameter (MWD) as also associated physical chemical properties some samples. measured MWD value 0.28 mm 1.10 could be categorised unstable, values variability decreasing drastically deepest Analysis relation suggested that A-horizons influenced clay fraction abundance organic carbon (SOC) content nature agricultural practices, while at deeper B-horizons, decrease SOC other used explain overall low stability. In study, coupled measurements indicated it possible restore structure limiting deep profile compaction order improve salt leaching exportation.

Aggregate Stability and Water Retention near Saturation Characteristics as Affected by Soil Texture, Aggregate Size and Polyacrylamide Application
Understanding the effects of soil intrinsic properties and extrinsic conditions on aggregate stability is essential for the development of effective soil and water conservation practices. Our objective was to evaluate the combined role of soil texture, aggregate size and application of a stabilizing agent on aggregate and structure stability indices (composite structure index [SI], the α and n ...
متن کاملEffectiveness of compost use in salt-affected soil.
Soil degradation and salinization are two of the utmost threat affecting agricultural areas, derived from the increasing use of low quality water and inappropriate cultural practices. The problem of low productivity of saline soils may be ascribed not only to their salt toxicity or damage caused by excess amounts of soluble salts but also arising from the lack of organic matter and available mi...
