Software-Defined Small Cell-Linked Vehicular Networks: Architecture and Evaluation

چکیده

Vehicle-to-everything services are in the implementation phase, and automakers agree that V2X would improve safety-critical applications already deployed. 3GPP Release 12 introduces LTE-V for V2V V2I services. The is extended to C-V2X support V2N. Because of challenge high mobility system, cutting-edge technologies, such as SDN small cell 5G networks, pave way next generation vehicular networks. a network technology concept divides data control planes. OpenFlow protocol used communication between layer SDN. Different from wireless traditional cellular base stations, cells lower-power sites deployed every few blocks. Small can transmit using mid- high-band spectrums. cell-linked road side unit (RSU) considered key enabling because it has capability create logical cluster platform residing at edge network, which provides computation performance. Accordingly, we consider novel distributed software-defined architecture (diSRsVN). Based on diSRsVN, on-board vehicle, topology discovery over diSRsVN presented. proposed evaluated under an omnet++ simulator. simulation results show effectiveness architecture, improves packet delivery ratio minimizes end-to-end delay.

dSDiVN: A Distributed Software-Defined Networking Architecture for Infrastructure-Less Vehicular Networks

In the last few years, the emerging network architecture paradigm of Software-Defined Networking (SDN), has become one of the most important technology to manage large scale networks such as Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs). Recently, several works have shown interest in the use of SDN paradigm in VANETs. SDN brings flexibility, scalability and management facility to current VANETs. However, ...

Software-Defined Management Model for Energy-Aware Vehicular Networks

This paper investigates the energy efficiency of Road Side Units (RSUs) by proposing a novel flow and energy management model in Software-Defined Networking (SDN)-based vehicular networks. In the considered scenario, high vehicular mobility and limited coverage area of RSUs cause a degradation in Quality of Experience (QoE) of vehicles and this significantly affects the quality of communication...

Authentication and Access Control Architecture for Software Defined Networks

In this work, we propose a host authentication and access control architecture for software defined networks. The key idea is to authenticate at Layer 2, using IEEE 802.1X standard and Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP). EAP exchanges authentication information between the supplicant host and a RADIUS authentication server. We developed the proposed authenticator as an OpenFlow applicatio...
