Soft Tissue Simulants for Survivability Assessment—A Sustainability Focussed Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
Traditionally, human cadavers and porcine tissue have been used as means to replicate elements of the body; however, because differences in biomechanical properties from limbs/organs potential for degradation mechanical caused by ageing, they do not provide accurate material either lethality or survivability assessment. In 21st century with more ethical ways working being employed, use soft analogues undertake ballistic testing has become routinely accepted. However, gaps literature exist that identified a difference characterisation. Procedurally, every researcher manufactures gelatine differently, which, when combined lack calibration procedures, can cause inconsistencies output data, additional concerns surrounding repeatability re-mouldable simulants, such Perma-Gel®. Further, limited information is available on environmental impact ‘1 shot’ items, gelatine, which well-known widely accepted This review identifies key within literature, risk associated assessment, solutions issues within, outcomes showing current methodologies assessment align wider UK government ambition Net Zero 2050 unless changes are made.

Techniques for soft tissue management around the implants: a review
Dental implants, as a result of their excellent success rates and advantages over fixed or removable methods, have become the optimal treatment for replacing missing teeth. Surgical and restorative techniques that can reduce the loss of hard and soft tissues that often accompany implant placement are desirable. Achieving an esthetic outcome in tooth replacement and implant treatment requires a...
متن کاملSoft Tissue Wound Healing Review
Wound healing refers to the body's replacement of destroyed tissue by living tissue (Walter and Israel 1987) and comprises two essential components Regeneration and Repair. The differentiation between the two is based on the resultant tissue. In regeneration, specialised tissues is replaced by the proliferation of surrounding undamaged specialised cells. In repair, lost tissue is replaced by gr...
متن کاملSoft Tissue Repair and Healing Review
The inflammatory and repair processes are no longer simple events to describe in the light of the ever increasing knowledge in this field. This review is only a brief resume of the salient events associated with tissue repair, with an emphasis on the soft tissues rather than the classical 'wounds' approach. I have covered the electrical stimulation modalities for wound healing (ulcers, pressure...
متن کاملSoft tissue tumors in palaeopathology: a review.
OBJECTIVE To perform a review of soft tissue tumors in palaeopathology. METHODS Examination of palaeopathological literature. RESULTS Up to now, observations of neoplastic soft tissue lesions in mummified remains are limited to 15 cases, and only 4 of them present malignancies; 14 cases of calcified benign tumors, including 13 neoplasms of the female reproductive system and 1 teratoma, are ...
