Socio-economic substantiation of expediency of seasonal influenza vaccine prophylaxis among medical workers

The purpose of this study is to determine the socio-economic effectiveness seasonal influenza vaccine prophylaxis among health professionals based on analysis morbidity with temporal disability (MTD) and financial benefits preventive measure. included collection information MTD direct indirect costs treatment compared in “Dnipropetrovsk Regional Perinatal Center Hospital” Dnipropetrovsk Council” (ME “DRPC DRC”) during 2017-2020 (3 epidemic seasons). To assess consequences prophylaxis, indicators was performed, index coefficient anti-epidemic were used. economic effect determined basis cost-benefit method using algorithm form a “decision tree”. base for accounting reporting documentation care institution (HCI). observation period revealed that all studied rates (number cases per 100 employees; number days average case duration) statistically significantly lower vaccinated unvaccinated (p<0.001). Precautionary last year (2019-2020) 11.07 (95% CI 6.68-15.46) – 96.23 81.86-110.60) employees. efficiency increased by 2.37 1.95-2.79), 15.16% 11.17-18.01). vaccination 69.44% employees one season amounted total UAH 248,976 or 494 (56%) employee. proved high medical, social HCI.
