Social Media and the Management of Ethno-Religious Conflicts: Stakeholders’ Perspectives

This study examines the utilization of social media to manage ethno-religious conflicts in Taraba State, Nigeria with specific attention nature stories on platforms conflicts, how they affect process conflict management and opportunities/threats which portend management. Pegged Technology Acceptance Model, adopts in-depth interview qualitative content analysis posts as research designs. Population comprises stakeholders engaged managing state- traditional rulers, religious leaders, leaders socio-cultural associations information personnel security agencies. Eleven respondents have been purposively sampled based their perceived relevance Facebook state also qualitatively analysed back up interviews. Findings reveal that possess both positive negative traits terms management, some utilize them for while do not, due largely perceptions platforms. The demonstrates potentials are vital concomitant numerous defects, hence, caution must be applied mitigation strategies adopted utilizing more impact.
