چکیده
Atlas Mountains located in Morocco. Mountainous regions constitute an area of water production, while is used downstream plains. In Central Morocco, the represent most important supply country. The solid part precipitation forms seasonal snowpack. Snowmelt for different uses neighbouring Accurate knowledge snow equivalent key information needed by policy-makers to help design and implement appropriate allocation strategies resource management. objective this paper provide a summary our research activities on hydrology during past twenty years. approach combines situ measurements, remote sensing, modeling. Following description context Moroccan experimental network, overview main results obtained presented: characterization spatiotemporal dynamics cover; impact North Atlantic Oscillation snow-covered area; snowmelt contribution flows rivers; surface groundwater recharge quantification climate change impacts associated runoff from Mountains. We also present challenges future perspectives within topic.

Piecewise delamination of Moroccan lithosphere from beneath the Atlas Mountains
The elevation of the intracontinental Atlas Mountains of Morocco and surrounding regions requires a mantle component of buoyancy, and there is consensus that this buoyancy results from an abnormally thin lithosphere. Lithospheric delamination under the Atlas Mountains and thermal erosion caused by upwelling mantle have each been suggested as thinning mechanisms. We use seismic tomography to ima...
متن کاملLong-term analysis of snow-covered area in the Moroccan High-Atlas through remote sensing
The High-Atlas mountainous region in Morocco is a true water tower for the neighbouring arid plains, where the water resources are intensively and increasingly subjected to exploitation for agriculture and tourism. In order to manage this resource sustainably, it is necessary to describe accurately all the processes that contribute to the hydrological cycle of the area, and, in particular, to k...
متن کاملRecent Research in Snow Hydrology
Recent work on snow pack energy exchange has involved detailed investigations on snow albedo and attempts to integrate energy energy balance calculations over drainage basins. Along with our better understanding of the electromagnetic properties of snow, research in remote sensing has become more focused toward estimation of snow pack properties. In snow metamorphism, analyses of the physical p...

Abstract The extention of Snow cover and its spatial and temporal changes considered as a basic parameter in climatic and hydrologic studies. Data from satellite images due to the low cost and the large extention of cover are, effectively help the identifying of the snowy basins. Since the satellites are able to imaging a surface at different times, this will allow snow survey studies to inves...
متن کاملItree-hydro: Snow Hydrology Update for the Urban Forest Hydrology Model
This article presents snow hydrology updates made to iTree-Hydro, previously called the Urban Forest Effects—Hydrology model. iTree-Hydro Version 1 was a warm climate model developed by the USDA Forest Service to provide a process-based planning tool with robust water quantity and quality predictions given data limitations common to most urban areas. Cold climate hydrology routines presented in...
