Smoke Control in High-Rise Residential Buildings with Stair Pressurization Systems

چکیده
Stair pressurization systems are designed to create a smoke-proof barrier, preventing the ingress of smoke into staircases within buildings. In tall buildings over 25 m, evacuation strategies can utilize phased or simultaneous evaluation multiple storeys. This paper examines performance stair with differing number doors open starting from two doors, an incremental step up total 10 shaft. Simulations using Fire Dynamics Simulation (FDS) have shown that system would pass commissioning requirements allows in shaft if there more than four simultaneously. The required airflow prevent was found be above average flow speed 0.7 m/s. Past this limit, amount leaks continues increase as open. study suggests standards regarding should updated account for realistic scenarios, including system’s cascade settings, storeys, and expected time, evidenced by leakage once were drop-in rate between two-door four-door cases.

Explanation of the physical factors affecting the mental image of residents of high-rise residential buildings
When dealing with a diverse and rich environment, humans record limited information in their minds, and this information forms a comprehensive, albeit inaccurate, mental image of the environment. On the other hand, living in high-rise residential buildings in Iran is always associated with dissatisfactions that a clear mental image in the minds of the residents can reduce these dissatisfactions...
متن کاملSimulation of Smoke Emission from Fires in High-Rise Buildings Using the 3D Model Generated from 2-Dimensional Cadastral Data
Having a 3-Dimensional model of high-rise buildings can be used in disaster management such as fire cases to reduce casualties. The fundamental dilemma in 3D building modeling is the unavailability of suitable data sources. However, available cadastral 2D maps could be used as low-cost and attainable resources for 3D building modeling. Smoke will be a great threat to people's health during a f...
متن کاملRanking Passive Seismic Control Systems by Their Effectiveness in Reducing Responses of High-Rise Buildings with Concrete Shear Walls Using Multiple-Criteria Decision Making
In recent decades, the dual systems of steel moment-resisting frames and RC shear walls have found extensive application as lateral load-resisting systems for high-rise structures in seismically active areas. This paper investigated the effectiveness of tuned mass damper (TMD), viscous damper, friction damper, and the lead-core rubber bearing in controlling the damage and seismic response of hi...
متن کاملPredictive Control of Multizone HVAC Systems in Non-residential Buildings
In France, buildings account for a large part of the energy consumption and carbon emissions. Both are mainly due to Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) systems. So, the present work deals with the predictive control of multizone HVAC systems in nonresidential buildings. We used the PMV (Predicted Mean Vote) index as a thermal comfort indicator and developed low-order ANN-based mod...
متن کاملPlanning and Control Models for Elevators in High-Rise Buildings
The passenger service level in an elevator system depends on the planning of the elevator group and on the control of the elevators. In this thesis the contribution of passenger and elevator traffic for an elevator group with multiple shafts is studied by simulations and theoretical analysis. During this work an elevator control system, the Traffic Master System 9000 (TMS9000), was developed. T...
