Smart Fibrous Structures Produced by Electrospinning Using the Combined Effect of PCL/Graphene Nanoplatelets

Over the years, development of adaptable monitoring systems to be integrated into soldiers’ body gear, making them as comfortable and lightweight possible (avoiding use rigid electronics), has become essential. Electrospun microfibers are a great material for this application due their excellent properties, especially flexibility lightness. Their functionalization with graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) makes fantastic alternative innovative conductive materials. In work, electrospun membranes based on polycaprolactone (PCL) were impregnated different GNPs concentrations in order create an electrically surface piezoresistive behavior. All samples properly characterized, demonstrating homogeneous distribution GNPs’ adsorption onto membrane’s surfaces. Additionally, electrical performance developed was studied, including conductivity, behavior, Gauge Factor (GF). A maximum conductivity value 0.079 S/m obtained 2%GNPs-PCL sample. The sensor showed high sensitivity external pressures durability repetitive pressing. best GF (3.20) 0.5% GNPs. Hence, work presents flexible sensor, PCL GNPs, utilizing simple methods.
