Smarce1 and Tensin 4 Are Putative Modulators of Corneoscleral Stiffness

چکیده

The biomechanical properties of the cornea and sclera are important in onset progression multiple ocular pathologies vary substantially between individuals, yet source this variation remains unknown. Here we identify genes putatively regulating corneoscleral tissue by conducting high-fidelity compliance measurements across BXD recombinant inbred mouse set performing quantitative trait analysis. We find seven cis-eQTLs non-synonymous SNPs associating with compliance, show RT-qPCR immunolabeling that only two candidate genes, Smarce1 Tns4 , showed significant expression corneal scleral tissues. Both have mechanistic potential to influence development and/or regulation material properties. This work motivates further study for their role(s) pathology involving envelope as well novel models pathophysiology, such myopia glaucoma.

ATP2C2 and DYX1C1 are putative modulators of dyslexia‐related MMR

Background Dyslexia is a specific learning disorder affecting reading and spelling abilities. Its prevalence is ~5% in German-speaking individuals. Although the etiology of dyslexia largely remains to be determined, comprehensive evidence supports deficient phonological processing as a major contributing factor. An important prerequisite for phonological processing is auditory discrimination an...

Phosphatase and tensin homolog-induced putative kinase 1 and Parkin in diabetic heart: Role of mitophagy

Diabetes is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Diabetes-associated cardiac pathophysiology is recognized to be due to reasons including metabolic consequences on the myocardium. The heart is a highly energy-demanding tissue, with mitochondria supplying over 90% of adenosine triphosphate. The involvement of mitochondrial dysfunction in diabetes-related cardiac...

Glycolytic Metabolites Are Critical Modulators of Oocyte Maturation and Viability

The maturation of an oocyte into an egg is a key step in preparation for fertilization. In Xenopus, oocyte maturation is independent of transcription, being regulated at the level of translation and post-translational modifications of proteins. To identify factors involved in the maturation process we used two-dimensional differential gel electrophoresis to compare the proteome of oocytes and e...

Equatorial cataract after corneoscleral trephining.

THE occurrence of cataract in association with glaucoma presents a therapeutic problem of some magnitude which has attracted a good deal of attention in recent years (Samuels, 1947; Sourdille, 1950; Chandler, 1949;, Fran9ois, 1947; Williamson-Noble, 1953). The difficulties of treatment are not made less by the uncertainty which still exists as to the role played by the glaucomatous process and ...

Klotho and phosphate are modulators of pathologic uremic cardiac remodeling.

Cardiac dysfunction in CKD is characterized by aberrant cardiac remodeling with hypertrophy and fibrosis. CKD is a state of severe systemic Klotho deficiency, and restoration of Klotho attenuates vascular calcification associated with CKD. We examined the role of Klotho in cardiac remodeling in models of Klotho deficiency-genetic Klotho hypomorphism, high dietary phosphate intake, aging, and CK...
