چکیده
In this paper, we analyze the throughput and reliability of an indoor optical wireless communication (OWC)-based Internet Things (IoT) system based on Slotted ALOHA (SA) where IoT devices exchange data with access point (AP). Assuming that OWC receiver at AP exploits capture effect, derive error probability decoding a short-length packet originates from randomly selected device in presence interfering users. The analysis is derivation signal-to-interference-plus-noise-ratio (SINR) statistics application finite block-length (FBL) information theory. Using these analytical results, relevant performance parameters such as expressed terms outage user transmission. main trade-offs between setup are investigated, particular, by stressing how OWC-based geometry plays important role performance.Using extensive numerical clearly describe presented results used to optimize SA-based design.

Finite Length Performance of Random Slotted ALOHA Strategies
Multiple connected devices sharing common wireless resources might create interference if they access the channel simultaneously. Medium access control (MAC) protocols generally regulate the access of the devices to the shared channel to limit signal interference. In particular, irregular repetition slotted ALOHA (IRSA) techniques can achieve high-throughput performance when interference cancel...
متن کاملPerformance analysis of Block ACK-Based Slotted ALOHA for wireless networks with long propagation delay
Recently, many variants of Slotted ALOHA (S-ALOHA) have been proposed to solve a problem of performance degradation in wireless networks with long propagation delay. However, they do not consider the effect of retransmission, which also largely degrades performance, and do not provide any analytical model that considers the effect. In this paper, we design a variant of S-ALOHA to support retran...
متن کاملPerformance analysis of a slotted-ALOHA protocol on a capture channel with fading
We consider the slotted ALOHA protocol on a channel with a capture effect. There are M < ∞ users each with an infinite buffer. If in a slot, i packets are transmitted, then the probability of a successful reception of a packet is qi. This model contains the CDMA protocols as special cases. We obtain sufficient rate conditions, which are close to necessary for stability of the system, when the a...
متن کاملSlotted ALOHA with Capture in a Mobile Radio Environment
In this paper, we consider a slotted ALOHA protocol with capture, in a mobile communication environment, in the presence of Rayleigh fading and log-normal shadowing. The capture probabilities are computed, along with their limit as the number of colliding packets tends to innnity. Some suucient conditions for this limit to be positive, and therefore for the system to achieve a positive stable t...
