SLOPE FAILURE ANALYSIS OF HAVELIAN LANDSLIDE, ABBOTTABAD PAKISTAN

This research work was undertaken to evaluate the failure analysis of HavelianLandslide which triggered by rainfall in November, 2015. A site visit made collectlandslide matrix material samples. Basic in-situ measurements and laboratory tests were performed onreconstituted samples for determining basic engineering properties Series directshear conducted on reconstituted at landslide density byvarying percent saturation its likely effect mobilized shear strength. Finally theSlope/W software utilized calculate Factor Safety (FOS) along probable surfacefailure, putting strength parameters corresponding different degrees saturation.The revealed that soil decreased with increase degree ofsaturation (% age) slope become critical around 50% saturation.
