چکیده
Turner syndrome (TS) is a chromosomal disorder characterized by short stature and gonadal dysgenesis, the latter of which requires estrogen replacement therapy (ERT) to induce maintain secondary sexual characteristics. Insufficient ERT associated with compromised skeletal health, including bone fragility, in adults TS. In particular, insufficiency during adolescence critical because acquisition defective mass this period results impaired strength later life. addition mass, geometry also crucial factor influencing strength; therefore, more detailed understanding characteristics both childhood their relationships status needed prevent health adulthood Although delay initiation lower mineral density adulthood, limited information currently available on effects geometry. Herein, we summarize current knowledge children adolescents TS sufficiency, discuss potential limitations protocol for order achieve better adulthood.

Recombinant growth hormone for children and adolescents with Turner syndrome.
BACKGROUND Turner syndrome (TS) affects about one in 1500 to 2500 live-born females. One of the most prevalent and salient features of the syndrome is extremely short stature. Untreated women are approximately 20 to 21 cm shorter than normal women within their respective populations. Recombinant human growth hormone (hGH) has been used to increase growth and final height in girls who have Turne...

PURPOSE To determine the frequency of autoimmune thyroiditis (AIT) and the risk of development of thyroid dysfunction in children with Turner syndrome. METHODS From 1988 to 1998, 77 children with Turner syndrome were prospectively followed up at National Taiwan University Hospital. The mean (+/- standard deviation) age of these patients was 10.0 +/- 4.7 years at diagnosis of Turner syndrome a...
متن کاملSkeletal muscle microvascular function in girls with Turner syndrome
BACKGROUND Exercise intolerance is prevalent in individuals with Turner Syndrome (TS). We recently demonstrated that girls with TS have normal aerobic but altered skeletal muscle anaerobic metabolism compared to healthy controls (HC). The purpose of this study was to compare peripheral skeletal muscle microvascular function in girls with TS to HC after exercise. We hypothesized that girls with ...
