SiPM array of Xenoscope, a full-scale DARWIN vertical demonstrator

The DARWIN project aims to build and operate a next-generation observatory for dark matter neutrino physics, featuring time projection chamber with proposed active target of 40 t liquid xenon. As an R&D facility test fundamental components the future detector, Xenoscope, full-scale vertical demonstrator ~400 kg xenon up 2.6 m electron drift length, was built at University Zurich. Its main objective is demonstrate over unprecedented distances in - first purity monitor setup charge readout, followed by dual-phase chamber. In this second phase, array 48 VUV4 MMPCs from Hamamatsu (model S13371-6050CQ-02) 12-channel readout will be placed above column operated as light secondary proportional scintillation signals coming extracted electrons This work presents design development silicon photomultiplier covering structural electronic design, sensor characterisation cryogenic temperature signal simulation.
