Single-Shot Pulsed-LiDAR SPAD Sensor with on-chip Peak Detection for Background Rejection

چکیده

In recent years, direct Time-of-Flight techniques have been exploited with single-photon detectors to provide long distance ranges and high-frame rates measurements. Detectors based on Silicon Photon Multipliers commonly collect repetitive laser shots reconstruct a histogram of the TOF returning pulsed-laser photons, so discriminate between signal, background light, detector noise. Instead performing multi-shot measurements, we propose single-shot technique capable just one useful per pulse, corresponding peak signal highest number concurrent photons. this way, ambient photons dark counts are rejected, being mostly randomly distributed over time compared pulse Therefore, there is no need for shots, neither acquire store multiple TOFs, nor post-process any histogram, since each shot can information. We present sensor chip pixel 272 SPADs, which concurrently an analog triggering multi-hit TDC exceeds previous peak. report preliminary tests up 25 m, rejecting 60 klux solar background, > 95% success ratio.

Small Imaging Depth LIDAR and DCNN-Based Localization for Automated Guided Vehicle †

We present our third prototype sensor and a localization method for Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), for which small imaging LIght Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) and fusion-based localization are fundamentally important. Our small imaging LIDAR, named the Single-Photon Avalanche Diode (SPAD) LIDAR, uses a time-of-flight method and SPAD arrays. A SPAD is a highly sensitive photodetector capable ...

OccuPeak: ChIP-Seq Peak Calling Based on Internal Background Modelling

UNLABELLED ChIP-seq has become a major tool for the genome-wide identification of transcription factor binding or histone modification sites. Most peak-calling algorithms require input control datasets to model the occurrence of background reads to account for local sequencing and GC bias. However, the GC-content of reads in Input-seq datasets deviates significantly from that in ChIP-seq datase...

A Time-gated 128x128 Cmos Spad Array for On-chip Fluorescence Detection

Introduction A micro total analysis system (-TAS) is a miniaturized laboratory to perform rapid reactions, using extremely reduced sample volumes, and to efficiently process flow-based assays for applications in chemistry, biochemistry and the life science. To date, analysis is still performed by fluorescence microscopes, even though bulky and expensive, since they enable the highest flexibili...

Single-Shot Object Detection with Enriched Semantics

We propose a novel single shot object detection network named Detection with Enriched Semantics (DES). Our motivation is to enrich the semantics of object detection features within a typical deep detector, by a semantic segmentation branch and a global activation module. The segmentation branch is supervised by weak segmentation ground-truth, i.e., no extra annotation is required. In conjunctio...
