چکیده

Abstract Background Mitral valve replacement/repeair procedures increase year. Redo procedure and severely calcified mitral ring are risk factors for high mortality. Transmitral implantation (TMVI) represents a less invasive in high-risk population, but still with We seek to evaluate one single center experience the safety efficacy patients undergoing transeptal TMVI degenerated bioprostheses or surgical candidates heavily anulus calcification (MAC). Methods One-single centre, retrospective observational analysis, included patientes from 2012 2021 treated position. Valve-in-valve (ViV), (ViR) MAC were included. Periprocedural, in-hospital complications documented analyzed. Results Seventy-nine ViV was done 59 patients, ViR 8 ViMAC 10 Valve native anatomy 2 patients. Failed valve-in-valve transcatheter mitral valve implantation.

A 73-year old man underwent trans-septal anterograde implantation of a 26-mm Sapien-XT valve (Edwards Lifesciences, CA, USA) to treat a degenerated 27-mm Carpentier-Edwards bioprosthesis. During the follow-up, the patient experienced severe haemolysis with moderate-to-severe inter-valvular leak, and fluoroscopy revealed possible incomplete apposition of the Sapien-XT (Fig. 1). Reoperation was p...

Echocardiography in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation and Mitral Valve Clip

Transcatheter aortic valve implantation and transcatheter mitral valve repair (MitraClip) procedures have been performed worldwide. In this paper, we review the use of two-dimensional and three-dimensional transesophageal echo for guiding transcatheter aortic valve replacement and mitral valve repair.

Transcatheter Mitral Valve Implantation

T he rationale for the development of a transcatheter mitral valve implantation (tMVI) procedure, either percutaneous or via minimally invasive surgery (MIS), arose from consideration of several key surgical concepts. First, mitral valve replacement is the most effective modality and the gold standard procedure for reliably reducing mitral regurgitation (MR). The efficacy and risks of mitral va...

Transcatheter Valve-in-Valve and Valve-in-Ring for Treating Aortic and Mitral Surgical Prosthetic Dysfunction.

Bioprosthetic valve use has increased significantly. Considering their limited durability, there will remain an ongoing clinical need for repairing or replacing these prostheses in the future. The current standard of care for treating bioprosthetic valve degeneration involves redo open-heart surgery. However, repeat cardiac surgery may be associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Wit...
