چکیده
Single cell trapping is demonstrated on superhydrophobic–superhydrophilic patterned microarrays. Superhydrophilic spots that are twice the size of cells to be trapped found optimal for obtaining single trapping. The based exclusivity instead heavy dilution suspension and relying Poisson statistics. superhydrophobic areas array very resistant toward unwanted adhesion thus cleaning steps not needed after deposition. Based these properties, 20 μm superhydrophilic utilized two types immune cells, primary peripheral blood mononuclear (PBMCs) THP-1 cells. from a 10 μl droplet dragged across surface with different velocities. efficiencies in range 10–30% shown type, spot seeding velocity concentration.

Highly efficient single cell arraying by integrating acoustophoretic cell pre-concentration and dielectrophoretic cell trapping.
To array rare cells at the single-cell level, the volumetric throughput may become a bottleneck in the cell trapping and the subsequent single-cell analysis, since the target cells per definition commonly exist in a large sample volume after purification from the original sample. Here, we present a novel approach for high throughput single cell arraying by integrating two original microfluidic ...

The possibility to conduct complete cell assays under a precisely controlled environment while consuming minor amounts of chemicals and precious drugs have made microfluidics an interesting candidate for quantitative single-cell studies. Here, we present an application-specific microfluidic device, cellcomb, capable of conducting high-throughput single-cell experiments. The system employs pure ...
متن کاملCell Deformation by Single-beam Acoustic Trapping: A Promising Tool for Measurements of Cell Mechanics
We demonstrate a noncontact single-beam acoustic trapping method for the quantification of the mechanical properties of a single suspended cell with label-free. Experimentally results show that the single-beam acoustic trapping force results in morphological deformation of a trapped cell. While a cancer cell was trapped in an acoustic beam focus, the morphological changes of the immobilized cel...
متن کاملShort peptides enhance single cell adhesion and viability on microarrays.
Single cell patterning holds important implications for biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, medicine, and bioinformatics. The challenge for single cell patterning is to produce small islands hosting only single cells and retaining their viability for a prolonged period of time. This study demonstrated a surface engineering approach that uses a covalently bound short peptide as a mediator to p...
متن کاملSingle cell trapping and DNA damage analysis using microwell arrays.
With a direct link to cancer, aging, and heritable diseases as well as a critical role in cancer treatment, the importance of DNA damage is well-established. The intense interest in DNA damage in applications ranging from epidemiology to drug development drives an urgent need for robust, high throughput, and inexpensive tools for objective, quantitative DNA damage analysis. We have developed a ...
