Singaporean Malay-Muslim Women's Lifestyle Habits and Attitudes towards Health

This article examines how the intersections of Singaporean Malay-Muslim women’s religious and gendered subjectivities influence their lifestyle habits health attitudes. It explores gaps between practices, perspectives discourses that discuss Islam’s relevance in educational programmes. Individual semi-structured interviews with 19 local women diverse social backgrounds show while Islam is influential conceptions, this limited to self-internalisation theologically-based discourses.
