چکیده

In this study, a combination of ground-based particulate matter measurements in synergy with space-borne CALIOP lidar recordings, meteorological observations, and reanalysis models have been used to study atmospheric air pollution over Amman, Jordan. The measurement was conducted 24-month period spanning from January 2018 the end December 2019. aerosol profiles layer products version 4.21, level 2, 5 km horizontal resolution were evaluate vertical structure constituent Amman region. particle depolarization ratio (PDR) extracted recordings has utilized classify type aerosols. This method reveals that atmosphere above mostly contains three different types including coarse-mode dust, fine-mode dust (polluted dust), non-dust aerosols (pollution). Aerosols 0 < δp≤ 0.075 are categorized as pollution, 0.20 polluted 0.40 classified dust. Both one- two-step POlarization-LIdar PHOtometer Networking (POLIPHON) approaches applied profile product retrieve optical micro-physical properties each type. Lofted-layer top heights thickness during also products. highest frequency occurrence observed for layers height 0.5 2.5 second smaller peak at 3.5 km. maximum lofted (40% cases) below For lower than 500 m ground level, impacted by On other hand, 2500 agl, contaminated depolarizing particles.

Satellite observation of atmospheric nuclear gamma radiation.

We present a satellite observation of the spectrum of gamma radiation from the Earth's atmosphere in the energy interval from 300 keV to 8.5 MeV. The data were accumulated by the gamma ray spectrometer on the Solar Maximum Mission over 3 1/2 years, from 1980 to 1983. The excellent statistical accuracy of the data allows 20 atmospheric line features to be identified. The features are superimp...
