Simulation of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polypropylene Nanocomposites for Small Wind Turbine Blades

This study aims to evaluate the effect of functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) on performance glass fiber (GF)-reinforced polypropylene (PP) for wind turbine blades. Support theoretical blade movement horizontal axis turbines (HAWTs), simulation, and analysis were performed with Ansys computer package gain insight into durability polypropylene-chopped E-glass application in blades under aerodynamic, gravitational, centrifugal loads. Typically, polymer nanocomposites are used small-scale systems, such as residential applications. Mechanical physical properties material composites including tensile melt flow indices determined. Surface morphology MWCNTs showed good distribution dispersed phase.
