چکیده
Abstract The main objective of this paper is to analyze the impact climate change on water resources management and groundwater quantity quality in coastal agricultural Almyros Basin, Greece. Intensive abstractions for irrigation nitrogen fertilization crop production maximization, have caused a large deficit, nitrate pollution, as well seawater intrusion aquifer system. Multi-model projections Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPs 4.5 8.5) from Med-CORDEX database precipitation temperature been used evaluate impacts study area. multi-model bias-corrected with Delta, Delta Mean Variance, Quantile Change, Empirical Mapping, Gamma Mapping methods, statistically tested find best GCM/RCM ensemble. Simulation has performed using an Integrated Modelling System (IMS) that contains connected models surface hydrology (UTHBAL), (MODFLOW), leaching/crop growth (REPIC), pollution (MT3DMS), (SEAWAT). results indicate ensemble consists three (3) both RCP4.5 RCP8.5 bias-correction method. IMS was applied historical future periods observed simulated meteorological inputs (e.g. temperature) various agronomic scenarios storage works development (i.e. reservoirs). at least deficit along rain-fed cultivation schemes, combined or without operation reservoirs, should be overcome degradation basin. Adaptive Management of Watersheds and Related Resources
The concept of learning about natural resources through the practice of management has been around for several decades and by now is associated with the term adaptive management. The objectives of this paper are to offer a framework for adaptive management that includes an operational definition, a description of conditions in which it can be usefully applied, and a systematic approach to its a...
متن کاملProjected Scenarios for Coastal First Nations’ Fisheries Catch Potential under Climate Change: Management Challenges and Opportunities
Studies have demonstrated ways in which climate-related shifts in the distributions and relative abundances of marine species are expected to alter the dynamics and catch potential of global fisheries. While these studies assess impacts on large-scale commercial fisheries, few efforts have been made to quantitatively project impacts on small-scale subsistence and commercial fisheries that are e...

Due to the frequent drought periods, water consumption increase, and competition of different water-using sectors, the Hirmand catchment is in a critical water status in the Sistan region. This threat has been intensified in recent years. To cope with this problem, we must pay more attention to different types of water use such as virtual water as a water saving method. The present study calcul...
