چکیده
A new 60 GHz band single-input switched beam antenna is proposed for the fifth-generation (5G) millimeter-wave network applications. The presented design capable of electronically switching main in two different directions via a microstrip-line-to-slotline single-pole dual-throw (SPDT) switch based on commercially available p-i-n diodes. fabricated low-cost printed circuit board process CuClad 217 substrate. Measurements were carried out an anechoic chamber and experimental results show good agreement with numerical simulations. to +45° -45° horizontal plane gain about 3 dBi beamwidth 80° both states. prototype shows several advantages over other state-of-the-art reconfigurable antennas such as simple electrical mechanism, manufacturing, low profile, small footprint. These features make ideal 5G applications, particularly end-devices working under Internet-of-Things paradigm.

Electromagnetically-Coupled Millimeter-wave Antenna Array with Non-Uniform Distribution for 60 GHz ISM Applications
Abstract—In this article, the design of an electromagnetically-coupled millimeter-wave elliptical patch array antenna prepared to work in the 56–65 GHz (14.8%) frequency band is presented. The introduced antenna array is designed for low-loss, high-gain and low cross-polarization levels. The proposed antenna exhibits a measured gain of 8 dBi and good linear polarization across the desired frequ...

The paper introduces a high gain end-fire printed antenna operating at 14 GHz with a bandwidth of 2 GHz. The 3x3 antenna sub-array formed of this element is used to present its beam steering and multi-beam-switching capabilities for millimeter wave Massive MIMO antenna arrays of 5G networks. The co-existence of these two techniques in a Massive MIMO sub-array, aided by the use of a simple two v...

The millimeter-wave bands have been attracting significant interest as a means to achieve major improvements in data rates and network efficiencies. One significant limitation for use of the millimeter-wave bands for cellular communication is that the communication suffers from much higher pathloss compared to the microwave bands. Millimeter-wave links have also been shown to change rapidly, ca...
