Time evolution of one-dimensional Quantum Many Body Systems
The level of current understanding of the physics of time-dependent strongly correlated quantum systems is far from complete, principally due to the lack of effective controlled approaches. Recently, there has been progress in the development of approaches for one-dimensional systems. We describe recent developments in the construction of numerical schemes for general (one-dimensional) Hamilton...
متن کاملSimilarity Renormalization Group for Few-Body Systems
Internucleon interactions evolved via flow equations yield soft potentials that lead to rapid variational convergence in few-body systems. The Similarity Renormalization Group (SRG) [1, 2] provides a compelling method for evolving internucleon forces to softer forms by decoupling lowfrom high-momentum matrix elements [3, 4]. A series of unitary transformations parameterized by s (or λ ≡ s−1/4) ...
متن کاملDielectric-environment mediated renormalization of many-body effects in a one-dimensional electron gas
Relaxing the assumption of an “infinite and homogenous background,” the dielectric response function of one-dimensional semiconducting nanowires embedded in a dielectric environment is calculated. It is shown that a high-κ (higher than semiconductor dielectric constant) dielectric environment reduces the screening by the free carriers inside the nanostructure, whereas a low dielectric constant ...
متن کاملDecoupling in the Similarity Renormalization Group for Nucleon-Nucleon Forces
Decoupling via the Similarity Renormalization Group (SRG) of low-energy nuclear physics from high-energy details of the nucleon-nucleon interaction is examined for two-body observables and few-body binding energies. The universal nature of this decoupling is illustrated and errors from suppressing high-momentum modes above the decoupling scale are shown to be perturbatively small.
متن کاملThe similarity renormalization group for three-body interactions in one dimension
We report on recent progress of the implementation of the similarity renormalization group (SRG) for three-body interactions in a one-dimensional, bosonic model system using the planewave basis. We discuss our implementation of the flow equations and show results that confirm that results in the three-body sector remain unchanged by the transformation of the Hamiltonian. We also show how the SR...
