Silver Dependent Enantiodivergent Gold(I) Catalysed Asymmetric Intramolecular Hydroamination of Alkenes: A Theoretical Study

We report a theoretical study of the first silver-dependent enantiodivergent gold-catalysed reaction. The combination single chiral binuclear gold(I) chloride complex and silver perchlorate catalyses asymmetric intramolecular hydroamination alkenes affords both enantiomers products by applying simple solvent change from toluene to methanol. A gold-silver adduct that occurs only in methanol appears control enantioinversion. If one gold atom coordinates activates alkene moiety, other is included an with chloride, which molecule further interacts amine function. use implies free anions (S)-enantiomer, allows proximal interaction amine, leads opposite stereodifferentiation two diastereomeric intermediates during final protodeauration step results (R)-enantiomer.
