Silane-Containing Universal Adhesives Influence Resin-Ceramic Microtensile Bond Strength

چکیده
Background: Silane-containing universal adhesives (UAs) are marketed as adhesion promotors for glass-ceramics. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the priming capacity of γ-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (γMPTS)-containing and γ-methacryloxypropyltriethoxysilane (γMPTES)/3-(aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES)-containing lithium disilicate ceramic (LDC). Materials Methods: Etched LDC discs were distributed into four groups according material used: (control), no priming; (MBN), was primed with a primer (Monobond N); (SBU), γMPTS-containing UA (Single Bond Universal Adhesive) used primer; (SBP), γMPTES/APTES-containing (Scotchbond Plus primer. cemented using dual-cure resin cement, then sectioned microbeams microtensile bond strength (μTBS) evaluation. Failure modes assessed. Results: MBN application showed highest μTBS among all groups. (SBP) resulted in considerably higher compared (SBU) or control group. The mixed failures most predominant Conclusions: effect silane-containing UAs on resin-ceramic is dependent. Although improved bonding LDC, either tested cannot be considered an alternative separate silanization (priming) step

The influence of silane evaporation procedures on microtensile bond strength between a dental ceramic and a resin cement.
AIM To assess the influence of silane evaporation procedures on bond strength between a dental ceramic and a chemically activated resin cement. MATERIALS AND METHODS Eighteen blocks (6 mm Chi 14 mm Chi 14 mm) of ceramic IPS Empress 2 were cemented (C and B) to composite resin (InTen-S) blocks using a chemical adhesive system (Lok). Six groups were analyzed, each with three blocks divided acco...

PURPOSE The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of resin cement thickness on the microtensile bond strength between zirconium-oxide ceramic and resin cement. MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty-two freshly extracted molars were transversely sectioned at the deep dentin level and bonded to air-abraded zirconium oxide ceramic disks. The specimens were divided into 8 groups based on the exp...

Objective: The purpose of the present study was to compare bond strength of different universal adhesives under three different testing conditions: when no pretreatment was applied, after 37% phosphoric acid etching and after glycine application. Materials and methods: One hundred and fifty bovine permanent mandibular incisors were used as a substitute for human teeth. Five different universal ...

The aim of this study was to determine microtensile bond strength of two and one-step self-etching adhesive systems to dentin. 25 intact human third molars were used. Flat surfaces of mid-coronal dentin were exposed and the teeth were divided into 5 groups (n=5). Composite build-ups were made using the following self-etching systems / composite materials: 2-step self-etching system Contax / Ecu...
