Significant Inverse Influence of Tropical Indian Ocean SST on SIF of Indian Vegetation during the Summer Monsoon Onset Phase

چکیده

Sea surface temperature (SST) substantially influences the land climate conditions through co-variability of multiple variables, which in turn affect structural and functional characteristics terrestrial vegetation. Our study explored varying responses vegetation photosynthesis India to SST variations tropical Indian Ocean during summer monsoon. To characterise photosynthetic activity, we used solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence (SIF). results demonstrated a significant negative SST-SIF relationship onset phase monsoon: SIF anomalies northern central regions decrease when strong warm persist Ocean. Further, increase with cold SST. However, are less impactful on relative positive anomalies. The observed statistically SST–SIF link is feasible atmospheric teleconnections. During monsoon onset, favour weakened flow, decreasing moisture transport from ocean mainland. resultant water deficiency, along high air temperature, created stress condition reduced rate, thus demonstrating across India. Conversely, strengthened winds period increased availability Negative also dampen resulting identified would be beneficial generate simple framework that aids detection probable impact growth associated rapidly

Significant Influence of the Boreal Summer Monsoon Flow on the Indian Ocean Response during Dipole Events

A majority of positive Indian Ocean dipole (IOD) events in the last 50 years were accompanied by enhanced summer monsoon circulation and above-normal precipitation over central-north India. Given that IODs peak during boreal autumn following the summer monsoon season, this study examines the role of the summer monsoon flow on the Indian Ocean (IO) response using a suite of ocean model experimen...

Impact of the Indian Ocean SST basin mode on the Asian summer monsoon

[1] Following an El Niño event, a basin-wide warming takes place over the tropical Indian Ocean, peaks in late boreal winter and early spring, and persists through boreal summer. Our observational analysis suggests that this Indian Ocean warming induces robust climatic anomalies in the summer Indo-West Pacific region, prolonging the El Niño’s influence after tropical East Pacific sea surface te...

Solar influence on the Indian summer monsoon during the Holocene

[1] The large (8%) changes in the past seasonal insolation have a well-documented influence on the Indian summer monsoon. However, the effect of the small (<1%) decade to century scale solar variability is less certain. Evidence is emerging that Earth’s climate is sensitive to small changes in solar output on centennial time scale during the Holocene. Comparison of a recently published proxy re...

3D Modeling of Wind-Driven Circulation In The Northern Indian Ocean During Monsoon

Abstract The purpose of this research is to design and identify some of the natures and characteristics of high-resolution surface currents in the Northern Indian Ocean. The pattern of 3D circulation of the Wind-driven surface currents, Sea surface temperature (SST) and Sea Surface Salinity (SSS) distribution in the Northern Indian Ocean using The MIT general circulation model (MITgcm) with ho...

Indian Ocean SST, evaporation, and precipitation during the South Asian summer monsoon in IPCC-AR4 coupled simulations

The veracity of modeled air–sea interactions in the Indian Ocean during the South Asian summer monsoon is examined. Representative simulations of the twentieth century climate, produced by coupled general circulation models as part of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Fourth Assessment Report, are the analysis targets along with observational data. The analysis shows the presence of...
