Short period magnetization texture of B20-MnGe explained by thermally fluctuating local moments

چکیده
B20-type compounds, such as MnSi and FeGe, host helimagnetic skyrmion phases at the mesoscale, which are canonically explained by combination of ferromagnetic isotropic interactions with weaker chiral Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya ones. Mysteriously, MnGe evades this paradigm it displays a noncollinear magnetic state much shorter nanometer scale. Here we show that length scale volume-dependent properties stem from purely exchange interactions, generally obtained in paramagnetic state. Our approach is validated comparing canonical B20-helimagnet FeGe. The free energy calculated, how triple-q states can stabilize adding higher-order interactions.

Magnetization in short-period mesoscopic electron systems
We calculate the magnetization of the two-dimensional electron gas in a short-period lateral superlattice, with the Coulomb interaction included in Hartree and Hartree-Fock approximations. We compare the results for a finite, mesoscopic system modulated by a periodic potential, with the results for the infinite periodic system. In addition to the expected strong exchange effects, the size of th...
متن کاملLocal Tchebichef Moments for Texture Analysis
Orthogonal moment functions based on Tchebichef polynomials have found several applications in the eld of image analysis because of their superior feature representation capabilities. Local features represented by such moments could also be used in the design of e cient texture descriptors. This chapter introduces a novel method of constructing feature vectors from orthonormal Tchebichef moment...

The creation of detailed 3D buildings models, and to a greater extent the creation of entire city models, has become an area of considerable research over the last couple of decades. The accurate modeling of buildings has LBS (Location Based Services) applications in entertainment, planning, tourism and e-commerce to name just a few. Many modeling systems deployed to date require manual corresp...
متن کاملNuclear spin-lattice relaxation induced by thermally fluctuating flux lines.
Thermal motion of the flux lines (FL) gives rise to fluctuating magnetic fields. These dynamic fields couple to the nuclei in the sample and relax the nuclear spins. Based on a model of harmonic fluctuations, we provide a theoretical description of the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation (NSLR) process due to the fluctuating FLs in clean type-II superconductors. At low fields, the calculated longit...
