Diagnosis and characterization of duck beak atrophy and dwarfism syndrome in Chongqing of China
Duck beak atrophy and dwarfism syndrome (BADS) is a newly emerged disease in China since 2015. In October 2017, an unidentified disease occurred in Cherry Valley ducks, Chongqing municipality, the southwest of China. The affected birds showed short beak and growth retardation clinical signs. The disease caused approximately 20.00% morbidity and serious weight loss due to retarded growth. In ord...
متن کاملComplete Genome Sequence of a Novel Goose Parvovirus Isolated in Sichuan Province, China, in 2016
Here, we report the complete genome sequence of the novel goose parvovirus (NGPV) strain SC16 (NGPV-SC16), which was isolated from Sichuan Province, China, in 2016 and is a cause of the newly emerging beak atrophy and dwarfism syndrome in ducklings and a moderately pathogenic GPV-related parvovirus. The whole genome of strain NGPV-SC16 was 5,109 nucleotides long.

SIR, – Haemorrhagic nephritis and enteritis of geese (HNEG) is one of the major viral diseases of geese, affecting birds aged four to 10 weeks, with high morbidity and mortality. Under field conditions, death is the most common outcome, generally preceded by coma (Guerin and others 2000). The postmortem findings are oedema of subcutaneous tissues, gelatinous ascites, inflammation of the kidneys...
متن کاملIsolation and Genomic Characterization of a Duck-Origin GPV-Related Parvovirus from Cherry Valley Ducklings in China
A newly emerged duck parvovirus, which causes beak atrophy and dwarfism syndrome (BADS) in Cherry Valley ducks, has appeared in Northern China since March 2015. To explore the genetic diversity among waterfowl parvovirus isolates, the complete genome of an identified isolate designated SDLC01 was sequenced and analyzed in the present study. Genomic sequence analysis showed that SDLC01 shared 90...
متن کاملPapular-purpuric "gloves and socks" syndrome caused by parvovirus B19.
This paper presents a 15-year-old boy with an acute febrile illness accompanied by purpuric and papular lesions located mostly on the dorsal areas of his hands and feet with the additional changes on his knees and elbows. Serologic studies confirmed the acute infection by parvovirus B19. Apart from mild leukocytosis there were no other abnormalities in hematologic and laboratory findings. The d...
