Shock Index in predicting fluid resuscitation in patients with hypovolemic shock

چکیده
Introduction: Hypovolemic shock is diagnosed by the signs of hemodynamic instability and when source volume loss obvious. Among various types, hypovolemic most common which results either from blood hemorrhage or plasma alone due to extravascular fluid sequestration gastrointestinal, urinary, insensible losses. The objective this research was find use index in predicting resuscitation patients with shock. Methods: An analytical cross-sectional study conducted among 120 visiting Emergency department College Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital July 2022 September 2022. Data collected checked for completeness, accuracy then entered analyzed using SPSS-20. descriptive inferential statistical tools. P-value <0.05 considered as statistically significant. Results: Out patients, majority were >50 years. Minority only required transfusion. total 60% admitted ICU, 25% them ward 4.17% expired. In cases <1 while 40% case ≥1. number receiving transfusion at ER increased increase that are hospital more category ≥1 compared (p-value <0.05). Conclusions: This reveals accurate amount fluid. risk all clinical complication index.

Hypovolemic shock resuscitation.
Several changes in the way patients with hemorrhagic shock are resuscitated have occurred over the past decades, including permissive hypotension, minimal crystalloid resuscitation, earlier blood transfusion, and higher plasma and platelet-to-red cell ratios. Hemostatic adjuncts, such as tranexamic acid and prothrombin complex, and the use of new methods of assessing coagulopathy are also being...
متن کاملHypovolemic shock and resuscitation.
Hypovolemic shock is the manifestation of hypoperfusion from inadequate intravascular volume resulting in cellular hypoxia. Early, effective treatment tailored to the individual patient will minimize morbidity and mortality. The causes and end-organ responses can differ with each patient, requiring an understanding of the underlying physiology and pathophysiology. Treatment always consists of o...
متن کاملRestrictive versus Liberal Fluid Resuscitation in Children with Dengue Shock Syndrome: the differences in Clinical Outcomes and Hemodynamic Parameters
Background: Fluid resuscitation is the mainstay of treatment to counteract massive plasma leakage in dengue shock syndrome. We aimed to determine the differences in clinical outcomes and hemodynamic parameters of children with dengue shock syndrome post restrictive and liberal fluid resuscitation. Materials and Methods: A retrospective observational study of pediatric patients who were betwee...
متن کاملAdvances in fluid resuscitation of hemorrhagic shock.
The optimal fluid for resuscitation in hemorrhagic shock would combine the volume expansion and oxygen-carrying capacity of blood without the need for cross-matching or the risk of disease transmission. Although the ideal fluid has yet to be discovered, current options are discussed in this review, including crystalloids, colloids, blood and blood substitutes. The future role of blood substitut...
