Ship Trajectory Online Compression Algorithm Considering Handling Patterns

چکیده

With the widespread use of shipborne Automatic Identification System (AIS) and establishment shore-based AIS networks in past twenty years, a large amount trajectory data has been generated accumulated systems. However, big size increases cost storing, querying, processing practical applications. includes not only ship spatial position information but also course, speed, heading et al. In other words, knowledge handling behavior is hidden data. fact, many applications, such as maritime accident investigation evidence collection, route extraction, analysis, will require compression algorithm to retain key points original trajectory. To address these research challenges, considering patterns proposed this paper. order explain implicit trajectories, suggested method adopts rate course change (ROCC) speed (ROSC) sliding window criterion whether current point can be simplified. Numerical experiments are performed verify effectiveness algorithm. Compared with Douglas-Peucker (DP) algorithm, Sliding Window (SW) Opening Time Ratio (OPW-TR) results show that efficiently compress trajectories by under application requirement.

Prediction-based Online Trajectory Compression

Recent spatio-temporal data applications, such as car-sharing and smart cities, impose new challenges regarding the scalability and timeliness of data processing systems. Trajectory compression is a promising approach for scaling up spatio-temporal databases. However, existing techniques fail to address the online setting, in which a compressed version of a trajectory stream has to be maintaine...

The Ship Movement Trajectory Prediction Algorithm Using Navigational Data Fusion

It is essential for the marine navigator conducting maneuvers of his ship at sea to know future positions of himself and target ships in a specific time span to effectively solve collision situations. This article presents an algorithm of ship movement trajectory prediction, which, through data fusion, takes into account measurements of the ship's current position from a number of doubled auton...

Handling Complexity Aspects in Conceptual Ship Design

In this paper we present strategies to handle complexity during the conceptual phase of ship design. We introduce the issue by summarizing key ship design advancements during the last six decades, showing the growth in information, which leads to a more complex system. A definition of complexity based on the amount of information necessary to define the system is then discussed, placing the shi...

Semantic Trajectory Compression

In the light of rapidly growing repositories capturing the movement trajectories of people in spacetime, the need for trajectory compression becomes obvious. This paper argues for semantic trajectory compression (STC) as a means of substantially compressing the movement trajectories in an urban environment with acceptable information loss. STC exploits that human urban movement and its large–sc...

Modeling of ship trajectory in collision situations by an evolutionary algorithm

|For a given circumstance (i.e., a collision situation at sea) a decision support system for navigation should help the operator to choose a proper maneuver, teach them good habits, and enhance their general intuition on how to behave in similar situations in the future. By taking into account certain boundaries of the maneuvering region along with information on navigation obstacles and other ...
