Shifts in microbial communities in shallow lakes depending on trophic states: Feasibility as an evaluation index for eutrophication

Microbial communities are an important component of aquatic ecosystems. They play active roles in the biogeochemical cycles organic matter and nutrients to maintain health stability In present study, shifts microbial overlying water 15 shallow lakes with different trophic states Hubei Province (China) were assessed using Illumina MiSeq sequencing technology. The results revealed that proteobacteria be most abundant phylum states. Mesotrophic found similar moderately eutrophic terms community composition, interrelation between communities, expression level metabolic pathways. mesotrophic lakes, Bacillus Pseudomonas dominant genera water. less eutrophication, diversity tended higher. Lightly had species; however, interaction microorganisms was weakest these internal steady-state balance susceptible being broken. These indicate lightly eutrophication may one unstable transition process. Particulate matter, chlorophyll-a, ammonium nitrogen main drivers affecting distribution addition, correlation lake analyzed based on bacterial index (BEI). An obvious positive noted BEI (TLI), indicating could a role as biological factors evaluation along other known physicochemical indicators.
