چکیده
Sustainable agricultural development and land-use systems require the elaboration design of proper options, also land use changes for agro-ecosystems. This project aimed to assess shifts options major farming systems, if how biosphere reserve establishment its management have changed natural landscape components, and/or forest coverage Yayo Coffee Forest Biosphere Reserve. Focus group discussions, satellite image analysis, secondary information personal observations were used collect data in four (4) kebeles (PAs) reserve. The result revealed that areas showed trends increment as 5650.11ha, 6562.08ha 6949.62ha 1986, 2006 2016 respectively, other green vegetation somewhat increased from 1778.76ha 1986 1944.54ha 2016. Farmlands others decreased 2314.35ha 849.24ha Areas 80,000 69,100 hectares between 2007 2016, while plantation coffee 14,720 34,100 same periods. such woodlots, live fences plantations been compensate services address local communities’ needs. Therefore, this study concludes modifications ecosystem functioning intensify certain provisioning services, example implementation woodlots resulted declining agro-biodiversity services. recommends sustainable diversified need be considered changes.

Managing Land Use and Land-Cover Change: The New Jersey Pinelands Biosphere Reserve
The biosphere reserve is an explicitly spatial approach to ecosystem management. Based on the theory of island biogeography, a biosphere reserve consists of a core area of high ecological value protected by buffers of increasing land-use intensity that provide a gradual transition to surrounding, human-dominated landscapes. This paper addresses implementation of the biosphere reserve associated...

متن کاملEvaluation of land use/land cover changes in Mekelle City, Ethiopia using Remote Sensing and GIS
Land use is a dynamic phenomenon that changes with time and space due to anthropogenic pressure and development. Evaluating the existing land use and its periodic change is useful for urban planners, policy makers and natural resource managers. Land use and land cover changes in Mekelle City, Ethiopia (north east Africa) over a period of 25 years was studied using remotely sensed data. Multi te...
