چکیده
The behavior of masonry walls strengthened with Textile Reinforced Mortars (TRM) is a topic that has received considerable attention from researchers in recent years. However, the response such elements after exposure to high temperature an issue remains be explored extensively. This study analyzes TRM-strengthened brick panels glass and carbon fiber meshes subjected temperatures up 600 °C, subsequently tested under diagonal compression. reinforcements were applied before or exposure, analyze effectiveness damaged undamaged TRMs, thus simulating different scenarios might occur real building fire event. In general terms, results showed TRMs fibers exhibited better these conditions, restoring their original capacity providing additional ductility, whilst seemed more affected by temperature. Finally, experimental are here compared predictions available design guides, order assess accuracy codes would provide circumstances.

Retrofit of Un-Reinforced Infill Masonry Walls with FRP
This paper describes an experimental program that deals with retrofitting of infill un-reinforced masonry walls (URM) with Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP). The primary objective of this research is to develop a retrofit strategy that while economical will minimize the influence of the retrofit on the overall performance of structural frames in predominant seismic regions. Allowing some damage to...
متن کاملStrengthening of Existing Bridge Structures for Shear and Bending with Carbon Textile-Reinforced Mortar
Increasing traffic loads and changes in code provisions lead to deficits in shear and flexural capacity of many existing highway bridges. Therefore, a large number of structures are expected to require refurbishment and strengthening in the future. This projection is based on the current condition of many older road bridges. Different strengthening methods for bridges exist to extend their serv...
متن کاملEffect of Mortar Type on the Seismic Response of Partially Grouted Reinforced Masonry Shear Walls
Since the establishment of ASTM standard C91, masonry cement mortars have become widely used for masonry construction in low to moderate seismic regions. However, the Masonry Standards Joint Committee Code prohibits the use of masonry cement mortars in lateral force resisting systems for structures that fall into Seismic Design Categories D, E, and F. The general objective of this study is to e...
متن کاملPractical Nonlinear Analysis for Limit Design of Reinforced Masonry Walls
Two modeling techniques for practical nonlinear static analysis are implemented to support the development and usage of a new Limit Design method for special reinforced masonry shear walls. The new seismic design alternative is under consideration for future versions of the building code requirements for masonry structures in the U.S. The proposed simplified models were applied to a planar one-...
متن کاملShear Strengthening of Urm Clay Walls with Frp Systems
This paper presents an experimental program dealing with the shear strengthening with FRP systems of URM walls built with concrete and clay units. Ten concrete and five clay masonry panels, strengthened with FRP composites in the form of laminates and rods, and stainless steel, were loaded along the wall diagonal to observe their shear performance. The dimension of the concrete masonry panels w...
