Serum PCR Diagnosis of Brucella melitensis Infection in Rev. 1 Vaccinated Sheep

چکیده
Serological diagnosis provides a robust and effective approach to monitoring controlling small ruminant brucellosis. Brucella melitensis Rev. 1 is live vaccine strain used in prophylactic vaccination against Because the shares identical serological antigens with corresponding field strains, differentiating infected from vaccinated animals (DIVA) responses hamper surveillance campaigns interventions that involve vaccination. We have developed serum PCR-based which we amplify sequence omp2a as DIVA solution tRNA (uracil-5-)-methyltransferase species marker samples determine etiological agent involved brucellosis cases. Using this method, identified involvement of both an outbreak flock. This method represents novel studying etiology using source pathogen’s DNA.

Evaluation on stability process of Brucella melitensis - Rev. 1 vaccine in Iran
According to the reports of WHO, stability of Rev.1 vaccine should take more than one year, while the expiring date for the vaccine produced in Iran is 3 to 4 months, therefore any attempt to elongate the stability of this vaccine can solve many problems of the production including the request of Veterinary Organization of Iran in this regard. The objective of this study was to increase the sta...

Sheep brucellosis, a zoonosis mainly due to B. melitensis (biovar 1, 2 or 3), remains widespread world-wide. Pathologically and epidemiologically, the disease is very similar to B. abortus infection in cattle. The live B. melitensis Rev 1 strain is currently considered as the best vaccine available for the control of sheep brucellosis, especially when used at the standard dose by the conjunctiv...

OBJECTIVES The objective of the present study was to compare the efficacy of gentamicin given alone or combined with doxycycline with that of standard combination therapies in BALB/c mice experimentally infected with the Brucella melitensis vaccine strain Rev 1. METHODS A standard broth microdilution method was applied to determine the susceptibility of strain Rev 1 to the clinically most rel...
