چکیده

Purification of concentrated manganese sulfate solution by solvent extraction is discussed in this paper. The use bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphate (D2EHPA) and bis(2,4,4-trimethylpentyl)phosphinic acid (BTMPPA) was studied removal impurities from zinc electrowinning anode sludge leachates. Over 99 % iron were removed both extractants at around pH 3 two mixer-settlers operating continuous countercurrent mode a solvent-to-feed (S/F) ratio 0.43 T = 22 ± 1 °C. BTMPPA had higher selectivity for over than D2EHPA under all experimental conditions. Extraction typically below 10 can be limited crowding the extractants, since fraction loaded decreased decreasing organic to aqueous volumetric (O/A). A significant amount co-extracted Mn recovered selective stripping with 0.5 M sulfuric acid. more sensitive adjustment D2EHPA. Increasing mean residence time mixer 3.6 min 6.0 improved but change little or no effect on

Separation of Manganese and Iron from Reductive Leaching Liquor of Electric Arc Furnace Dust of Ferromanganese Production Units by Solvent Extraction

Electric arc furnace dust (EAFD) of ferromanganese production units, in the form of slurry, contains tar, alkalies, manganese, zinc, iron, silica, calcium, aluminum and other elements. A hydrometallurgical route based on solvent extraction technique was investigated for selective separation of manganese from the dust. Leaching of the EAFD resulted in an aqueous feed containing 4 g/L of manganes...

Solvent extraction and stripping of zinc from synthetic chloride solution in presence of manganese and cadmium as impurities

In this research work, solvent extraction and stripping of zinc ions from a Zn-Mn-Cd-bearing solution was investigated using D2EHPA as the extractant in a chloride medium. The efficiency of the extraction and stripping stages was evaluated separately, and different parameters such as the pH, extractant concentration, reaction temperature, and contact time were studied. Based on the results obta...

Solvent extraction in the primary and secondary processing of zinc

The traditional roast-leach-electrowin(RLE) zinc production route was developed for the processing of sulphide ores. It can prove inefficient for some complex sulphides and is not readily applicable to the treatment of other ore types. Inherent to this route is the generation of SO2 gas that has to be fixed for environmental reasons, usually resulting in the production of sulphuric acid. These ...

Preparation of Highly Pure Vanadyl Sulfate from Sulfate Solutions Containing Impurities of Iron and Aluminum by Solvent Extraction Using EHEHPA

The preparation of highly pure vanadyl sulfate from sulfate solutions containing impurities of iron and aluminumwas investigated by solvent extraction with 2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid mono-2-ethylhexyl ester (EHEHPA) and tri-n-butyl phosphate (TBP) as the phase modifier. The extraction and stripping conditions of vanadium (IV) and its separation from iron and aluminum were optimized. Under the...
