چکیده
Nine grades of steel from different European steelmakers, namely 304L, 316L, and 904L, were evaluated. The austenitic steels studied are used in the manufacture watch straps. evaluations have been carried out accordance with ASTM standards which specifically concern forms corrosion, pitting (G48-11, FeCl3), intergranular (A262-15, Strauss method) test Tuccillo–Nielsen test. polarization electrochemical on link straps was implemented by microelectrode technique. Stress corrosion has also investigated assembly laser welded pin link. It should be noted that, despite fact that grade is conformity classification standards, we note behavior very one steelmaker to another. There parameters can change quality such as technology process, casting volume, deoxidizers’ addition, remelted process traces pollutants. In consequence, observe an extensive dispersion results concerning nickel release, according EN 1811 legislation regarding protection population’s health, relating skin contact. conclusion, DIN 1.4441 (316L Med) 1.4539 (904L) present a good resistance morphologies crevice corrosion. 316L 304L grades, known 1.4435, 1.4404 1.4306, display major difference behavior.

Study of the Corrosion Resistance of Austenitic Stainless Steels during Conversion of Waste to Biofuel
The paper deals with the corrosion behavior of stainless steels as candidate materials for biofuel production plants by liquefaction process of the sorted organic fraction of municipal solid waste. Corrosion tests were carried out on AISI 316L and AISI 304L stainless steels at 250 °C in a batch reactor during conversion of raw material to bio-oil (biofuel precursor), by exposing specimens eithe...
متن کاملLow-Temperature Carburization of Austenitic Stainless Steels
LOW-TEMPERATURE CARBURIZATION is a gaseous carburization process performed at atmospheric pressure, at temperatures where the kinetics of substitutional diffusion are very slow. Low-temperature carburization hardens the surface of austenitic stainless steels through the diffusion of interstitial carbon, without the formation of carbides. The surface must be activated, by modification and remova...
متن کاملDevelopment of Alumina-Forming Austenitic Stainless Steels
This paper presents the results of the continued development of creep-resistant, alumina-forming austenitic (AFA) stainless steel alloys, which exhibit a unique combination of excellent oxidation resistance via protective alumina (Al2O3) scale formation and high-temperature creep strength through the formation of stable nano-scale MC carbides and intermetallic precipitates. Efforts in fiscal ye...
متن کاملY Studies on Austenitic Stainless Steels
Abstract--In this investigation, the fracture surfaces of SS 304 and SS 316 austenitic steels were analysed using the X-ray fractography technique. In both cases, a decrease in the austenite content was observed at the fracture surface as a result of deformation induced martensite, indicating a linear relation with Km~ within the stable crack growth region. The presence of this martensite was f...
متن کاملGrain Boundary Oxidation and the Chromium- Depletion Theory of Intercrystalline Corrosion of Austenitic Stainless Steels
High temperature microscopy during oxidation of austenitic stainless steels shows that an increased rate of oxidation is found in a narrow zone along grain boundaries where chromium carbides have been precipitated. This lends support to the chromium-depletion theory of intercrystatline corrosion of these steels. Approximate solution of the appropriate diffusion problem shows good agreement with...
