Self?assembling bile pigments for cancer diagnosis and therapy

چکیده
Nanomaterials that integrate multiple functions provide promising opportunities for noninvasive and targeted cancer diagnosis therapy. However, the unclear metabolic pathway to nanomaterials brought difficulties clinical application. Self-assembling bile pigments are endogenous functional materials with excellent biocompatibility low toxicity. Functional based on a decent solution this dilemma. In review, features of self-assembling discussed in detail treatment applications. Emphases put intrinsic physicochemical characteristics their applications, including drug delivery, photoacoustic imaging, photothermal therapy, anti-inflammation This review will promote exploration these areas tremendously realize innovative applications biliverdin /bilirubin toward

Origin of Bile Pigments
S. H. ROBINSON (Boston) described a new experimental technique for studying the early labelled component of bilirubin in the ligated bile duct of the Gunn rat. Using 14C bilirubin he measured the total miscible bilirubin pool. In addition, the rate of bile pigment formation following the administration of 2-14C glycine was estimated. This allowed precise assessment of bilirubin and haem product...
متن کاملLv. Studies on Bile Pigments
THE study of bile pigment derivatives is important because these substances represent the end-products of haemoglobin metabolism. The destruction of haemoglobin both normal and pathological can thus be measured by quantitative determination of the urobilin and urobilinogen in urine and faeces. On the other hand, when pathological destruction of haemoglobin can be excluded, urobilinor urobilinog...

The bile pigments, biliverdin, and bilirubin, are endogenously derived substances generated during enzymatic heme degradation. These compounds have been shown to act as chemical antioxidants in vitro. Bilirubin formed in tissues circulates in the serum, prior to undergoing hepatic conjugation and biliary excretion. The excess production of bilirubin has been associated with neurotoxicity, in pa...

This presentation is designed to review the catabolic aspects of the metabolism of hemoglobin. Emphasis will be placed pri marily on observations during the past few years which have expanded knowledge in this field considerably and have elucidated further the classical concepts of the degra dation of hemoglobin. Some details, how ever, still remain uncertain. Review arti cles1, 6’ 8i n ’ 2...
