Self-improving system integration: Mastering continuous change
نویسندگان
چکیده
The research initiative “self-improving system integration” (SISSY) was established with the goal to master ever-changing demands of organisation in presence autonomous subsystems, evolving architectures, and highly-dynamic open environments. It aims move integration-related decisions from design-time run-time, implying a further shift expertise responsibility human engineers systems. This introduces qualitative existing self-adaptive self-organising systems, moving self-adaptation based on predefined variation types, towards more contexts involving novel collaborative behaviours, emerging goals. In this article, we revisit SISSY efforts establish corresponding terminology focusing how relates broad field integration sciences. We then investigate SISSY-related derive taxonomy technology. is concluded by establishing road-map for developing operational self-improving self-integrating

"Self-Improving System Integration" - Preface for the SISSY14 Workshop
Information and communication technology (ICT) pervades every aspect of our daily lives and changes our communities and all of our human interactions. It also presents exorbitant challenges to correctly design and integrate our resulting technical systems. For instance, the embedding of ICT functionality into more and more devices (such as household appliances or thermostats) leads to novel int...

Importantly, increased automation is changing the way physical, virtual and cloud environments are managed. Outages caused by human error can have a high impact on business, and as a result companies have automated as much as possible to eradicate human errors. In fact, some companies have added penalty clauses to provider service level agreements (SLAs) to cover human-induced errors. Moreover,...

متن کاملThe Sisyphus Continuous Integration System
Integration hell is a prime example of software evolution gone out of control. The Sisyphus continuous integration system is designed to prevent this situation in the context of component-based software configuration management. We show how incremental and backtracking techniques are applied to strike a balance between maximal feedback and being up-to-the-minute, and how these techniques enable...
متن کاملMastering the management system.
Companies have always found it hard to balance pressing operational concerns with long-term strategic priorities. The tension is critical: World-class processes won't lead to success without the right strategic direction, and the best strategy in the world will get nowhere without strong operations to execute it. In this article, Kaplan, of Harvard Business School, and Norton, founder and direc...
