Self-care among medical professionals: a cross sectional study

Background: High rates of burnout, moral distress, anxiety and depression suicide tendencies are found among medical professionals who continue throughout their career. It can lead to personal crisis as well suboptimal patient care. Self- care strategies minimize harm due these burnouts. Self have multiple dimensions including nutrition, interpersonal relations, health responsibility, physical activity, spiritual growth, stress management promote maintain emotional being. This study was aimed assess the self-care in Mysuru. To self –care professionals.Methods: It’s a cross sectional conducted using pretested semi structured questionnaire on 376 students, both undergraduates postgraduates. Questionnaire included various domains Data entered Microsoft Excel analysed SPSS version 25 (Licensed JSS AHER). Descriptive statistics like mean, median interquartile range inferential Mann-Whitney Test were used.Results: Among participants, social well-being be better than post graduate students. No other domain had differences scores with respect year or gender.Conclusions: Markedly decreased practices calls for urgent attention multilayered at individual, institutional, national levels need promoted.
