چکیده

Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is a tumor selective therapy, the effectiveness of which depends on sufficient 10B delivery to and accumulation in tumors. In this study, we used self-assembling A6K peptide nanotubes as boron carriers prepared new agents by simple mixing BSH. BSH has been treat malignant glioma patients clinical trials its drug safety availability have confirmed; however, contribution BNCT efficacy low. nanotube improved two major limitations BSH, including absence intracellular transduction non-specific tissue. Varying mixture ratio produced materials with different morphologies—determined electron microscopy—and efficiencies. We investigated A6K/BSH 1:10 found high uptake no toxicity. Microscopy observation showed localization perinuclear region endosome human cells. The concentration using was almost 10 times higher than that systematic administration via mouse tail vein specific brain model immunohistochemistry pharmacokinetic study. Neutron irradiation cells treated inhibition cell proliferation colony formation assay. provides unique strategy for next generation drugs.

Self-assembling surfactant-like peptide A6K as potential delivery system for hydrophobic drugs

BACKGROUND Finding a suitable delivery system to improve the water solubility of hydrophobic drugs is a critical challenge in the development of effective formulations. In this study, we used A6K, a self-assembling surfactant-like peptide, as a carrier to encapsulate and deliver hydrophobic pyrene. METHODS Pyrene was mixed with A6K by magnetic stirring to form a suspension. Confocal laser sca...

Development of a Tomographic System for Online Dose Measurements in BNCT (Boron Neutron Capture Therapy)

Within our activities on accelerator-based boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) carried out at the Tandar Laboratory (Comisión Nacional de Energı́a Atómica, Argentina) we present here the study and design of a tomographic imaging system for the measurement of the spatial distribution of the absorbed dose during a BNCT session. The 10B(n,α)7Li boron neutron capture reaction produces a 478 keV gam...

Investigation the potential of Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) to treat the lung cancer

Introduction: Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is recommended to treat the glioblastoma tumor. It is well known that neuron beams are more effective treatment than photon beams to treat hypoxia tumors due to interaction of neutron with nucleus and production of heavy particles such as 7Li and alpha particle. In this study to evaluate the suitability of BNCT for treating of ...

Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) - Low-Energy Neutron Spectrometer for Neutron Field Characterization -∗)

Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) is known to be a promising and new cancer therapy which can kill tumor cells suppressing damage to normal tissues. Recently, accelerator based neutron sources (ABNS) for BNCT are under development especially in Japan. For characterization of the neutron field, we carried out the series study concerning thermal/epi-thermal neutron spectrometry especially for ...
