چکیده

Abstract The purpose of this study is to explore the physiological mechanisms underlying attenuation Cd toxicity using Se in two cherry tomato cultivars ‘Hanluzhe’ (HLZ) and ‘Lvfeicui’ (LFC), with low high accumulation rates, respectively. Hydroponic experiments were conducted 2.5 μmol L −1 was applied hydroponic solution 50 Cd. photosynthetic parameter, antioxidant enzyme activities, non-enzymatic antioxidants, mineral elements, phytochelatins, contents tomatoes detected. Exogenous reduced assimilation altered its chemical form subcellular distribution both cultivars. mitigated Cd-induced oxidative stress by enhancing activity superoxide dismutase (37.0% HLZ 48.9% LFC), peroxidase (50.6% 30.4% catalase (18.5% 28.6% ascorbate (26.6% 47.4% glutathione (28.3% LFC). Although significantly increased rate (Pn) HLZ, it exhibited no significant effect on Pn LFC under stress. improved phytochelatin (15.1% 42.4% LFC) content, which accelerated chelation Further, alleviated nutrient (Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Cu) or transportation varying degrees. efficiency alleviation higher Cd-accumulating cultivar than HLZ. Screening exogenous a promising method manage tomatoes.

Citrus aurantium L. peel extract mitigates hexavalent chromium-induced oxidative stress and cardiotoxicity in adult rats

In the present study, we aimed to examine the potential protective effect of C. aurantinum L. peel extract against oxidative damage induced by hexavalent chromium in the heart of adult rats. Rats were divided into six groups. Group I served as controls and received standard diet. Group II received via drinking water potassium dichromate (K2Cr2O7) alone (700 ppm) during 3 weeks. Groups III and I...

Celecoxib mitigates cigarette smoke induced oxidative stress in mice.

Cigarette smoke (CS) is a rich source of radicals, predisposing the cell to oxidative stress resulting in inflammation. Chronic inflammation is a recognized risk factor for carcinogenesis. Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) is a mediator of inflammatory pathway and may, therefore, contribute to carcinogenesis. There are several reports that suggest the association between CS and COX-2 associated risk to ...

Exogenous Application of Sodium Nitroprusside Alleviated Cadmium Induced Chlorosis, Photosynthesis Inhibition and Oxidative Stress in Cucumber

Cadmium (Cd) is one heavy metal which is toxic and can cause physiological disorder of plants. In the present experiment, effects of Sodium nitroprusside (SNP), a NO donor, on the phenotype, photosynthesis and oxidative stress of cucumber leaves were studied under Cd stress. Application of 100μM CdCl2 induced obvious chlorosis of cucumber leaves with lower pigment content and lower net photosyn...

Inhibition of Cholinesterases and Some Pro-Oxidant induced Oxidative Stress in Rats Brain by Two Tomato (Lycopersicon Esculentum) Varieties

this study sought to investigate the effects of two tomato varieties [Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. var. esculentum (Esc) and Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. var. cerasiforme (cEr)] on acetylcholinesterase (AchE) and butyrylcholinesterase (bchE) activities in vitro. Phenolics content, carotenoids characterisation, inhibition of Fe2+ and quinolinic acid-induced malondialdehyde (MDA) production in ...

Light-Induced Oxidative Stress, N-Formylkynurenine, and Oxygenic Photosynthesis

Light stress in plants results in damage to the water oxidizing reaction center, photosystem II (PSII). Redox signaling, through oxidative modification of amino acid side chains, has been proposed to participate in this process, but the oxidative signals have not yet been identified. Previously, we described an oxidative modification, N-formylkynurenine (NFK), of W365 in the CP43 subunit. The y...
