Selective Use of Corn Crop Residues: Energy Viability
نویسندگان
چکیده
The corn crop is one of the most important crops worldwide. However, management residues generated not efficient enough, which diminishes competitiveness this crop. An interesting option for valorization these wastes their thermal use. In order to make residue as much possible, it vital know different processes related a harvest, and try adapt use waste depending on its characteristics. Thus, in work, basis conventional differentiated analysis was carried out, including characterization assessing behavior during pyrolysis combustion. results pointed out importance collecting immediately after generation avoiding contact with soil factor tends worsen properties ash content. Concerning selective collection, highly advisable if subsequent going be pyrolytic process. case combustion, even though samples that contain stalk showed better combustion properties, improvement did outweigh adverse effects increase content, especially pelletizing.

Non-Parametric Energy Use Efficiency, Energy Ratio and Specific Energy for Irrigated Wheat Crop Production
In this paper, non parametric Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) was subjected to the energy data of wheat producers in Punjab state, India, and technical, pure technical and scale efficiencies were calculated for farms both category wise and zone wise. The main objective was to determine the strength of the correlation between non-parametric efficiencies and indices such as energy ratio and speci...

Development and application of modem technology for upgrading straw in Europe during the 1970's has stimulated intense interest in developing countries. Since 1980, twenty four international workshops have been held in Africa and Asia to consider research and development on crop residues as feed, with emphasis on improving their intake and digestibility in ruminants by treatment with ammonia ge...
متن کاملEnergy from Cotton Stalks and other Crop Residues
Energy is considered the basis for the progress and prosperity of nations and societies. Availability and consumption levels of energy is the best indicator of economic and social development. In many developing countries energy from crop residues (CR) has been the main source of energy, mostly in its traditional forms designed to meet the demands of domestic uses (Hall and Rosillo, 1998). In i...
متن کاملResidual Effects of No-Till Crop Residues on Corn Yield and Nitrogen Uptake
The residual effects of crop residues on N availability and crop growth are largely unknown. A field experiment was conducted from 1986 through 1988 at Lincoln, NE, to determine the residual effects on no-till corn (Zea mays L.) production and N uptake of 0,50, 100, and 1509'0 of the amount of crop residues produced by the previous crop during the previous 5 yr. These effects were evaluated wit...
متن کاملBiochemical suitability of crop residues for cellulosic ethanol: disincentives to nitrogen fertilization in corn agriculture.
Concerns about energy security and climate change have increased biofuel demand, particularly ethanol produced from cellulosic feedstocks (e.g., food crop residues). A central challenge to cropping for cellulosic ethanol is the potential environmental damage from increased fertilizer use. Previous analyses have assumed that cropping for carbohydrate in residue will require the same amount of fe...
