Selected Aspects of Surface Integrity of Inconel 625 Alloy after Dry-EDM in Carbon Dioxide

The dry-EDM process is environmentally neutral and enables to obtain good machining accuracy relatively surface quality. On the other hand, application of limited due problems with effective dissipation heat from zone instability material removal. Inconel 625 alloy was carried out in carbon dioxide as a dielectric supplied gap through channel working electrode, milling kinematics. In one investigated variants, workpiece submerged additionally deionized water during machining. main aim this research determine an influence EDM without external cooling on technological integrity ie. roughness, morphology microhardness. pulse time, current amplitude gas pressure were selected parameters. Obtained results indicate significant differences layer properties for both variants.
